No Swimming At Heart Pond Tuesday: Town
It may be hot, but the water is being treated Tuesday.

CHELMSFORD, MA — We may be in the middle of a heatwave, with temperatures hitting the mid 90s, and feeling like they're in the 100s, but don't head to Heart Pond to cool off today.
Swimming will not be permitted at Heart Pond today, according to town officials.
That's because the water is being treated.

You can still head over to Freeman Lake to cool off.
Normally, the Town Beaches at Heart Pond and Freeman Lake are open through the end of August. Lifeguards are on duty from 10 a.m. through 6 p.m. each day. The Public Facilities Department and the Chelmsford Open Space Stewards prepare and maintain the beach properties.

Today there's a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m.. But for most of the day expect it to be mostly sunny and hot, with a high near 98, according to the National Weather Service. Heat index values as high as 106.
Tuesday night, there's another slight chance of showers before 10pm. The temperature will only cool to a low around 74, according to forecasters.
Wednesday it's back up to a high of 97 degrees, with heat index values as high as 101. There's a chance of thunderstorms late afternoon into the evening, which brings us to Thursday, where National Weather Service forecasters predict a high of "only" around 85.
