CHELMSFORD – Joanne M. (Antonucci) O’Neill, 74, of Chelmsford, passed away October 7, 2013 surrounded by her loving family after a courageous and graceful battle with melanoma. She was the beloved wife of John J. O’Neill, Sr. with whom she would have celebrated her 50th wedding anniversary on April 4, 2014.
Born in East Boston on June 28, 1939 she was the daughter of the late George and Corinna (Spera) Antonucci. A 1957 graduate of Hyde Park H.S., she was a proud employee of Market Basket in Westford for the past five years. She was a resident of Chelmsford for the past 44 years and a faithful communicant of St. Mary’s Church. She loved to cook and enjoyed reading. She was an avid Red Sox fan and was a strong supporter for the blind. Joanne was completely devoted to her family and treasured every moment spent with them.

In addition to her husband, Joanne is survived by her loving sons, Joseph G. O’Neill and John J. O’Neill, Jr. and his wife Myriam Hickey O’Neill; three cherished grandchildren; John J. III “Jack”, Clare, and Tom O’Neill all of Chelmsford; brothers; Nicholas Antonucci and his wife Wanda and Mario Antonucci and his wife Natalie, sister Virginia Ziegler and her husband Charles, sister-in-law Kathleen “Connie” Gaffney, and numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She was predeceased by her siblings; George Antonucci, Norma Formisano, Victoria Given, and Angela Della Piana.

Funeral Mass Friday at 9:00 am at St. Mary Parish, 25 North Rd., Chelmsford. Interment in Pine Ridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joanne’s memory may be made to Schepens Eye Research Institute, 20 Staniford St., Boston, MA 02114. Funeral Director Paul A.
