Pawtucket Street Bridge Over Pawtucket Canal Reopening
This work is part of a $14.7 million project to replace or rehabilitate five Canal Bridges.

LOWELL, MA – A portion of the newly constructed bridge carrying Pawtucket Street over the Pawtucket Canal in Lowell will open to one-way westbound vehicular traffic Friday, according to the Massachusetts Department of Transportation.
This lane will reopen around 3 p.m. and pedestrian traffic will be shifted to the new sidewalk along the westbound lane of the bridge.
The existing bridge, which had been open to one-way westbound traffic during construction, was closed to traffic in February.

The opening of the first half of the new bridge will allow construction crews to proceed with the demolition and reconstruction of the remaining portion of the existing bridge.
Traffic signs will guide drivers through the area, according to MassDOT.
