Police, DA Investigate Fatal Stabbing In Lowell

LOWELL, MA – Police confirmed they are investigating a fatal stabbing that happened on Appleton Street in Lowell Wednesday night and are asking for the public's help in finding whoever might be responsible.

Around 11 p.m. July 8, someone reported a man needed help at the Lemon Tree Food Shops on Appleton Street. When they arrived police found a man in his 30s, suffering from stab wounds. EMS took him to Lowell General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

According to police and the Middlesex District Attorney's office, a preliminary investigation suggests the man was in a fight near the convenience store and then walked into the store to get help.

Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Lowell Police Superintendent Kelly Richardson said they haven't made any arrests yet and are asking anyone with information is asked to contact Lowell Police at 978-459-8477.
