Registration Opens, Closes In Chelmsford For Vaccination Clinic
The clinic will be held Feb. 18, but space is limited to Chelmsford residents over 75 years old.

CHELMSFORD, MA — Once again, minutes after registration opened for a Chelmsford coronavirus vaccination clinic at the Town offices for residents older than 75, the clinic was booked.
A US Census population estimate in 2019, put the population of Chelmsford at 35,391. Of that, it estimated 18.8 percent were above 65 years old, or around 6,500 people.
The quick booking of the clinic highlights, the race to vaccinate amid limited supply across the commonwealth.

Two weeks ago the state notified hospitals it would be greatly reducing the supply of vaccines to hospitals and health systems in order to consolidate vaccine doses for use at state-run vaccination clinics.
The last time the town held a clinic on Jan. 27, it, too, was booked within minutes of the announcement on the town website.

Chelmsford officials are adamant that those who need assistance with on-line registration, should reach out to family and friends, not them.
"DO NOT CALL OR COME IN TO THE BOARD OF HEALTH TO REGISTER," the board said in a statement.
This clinic is for Chelmsford residents who are age 75+ only. This will not include the companion program. The provision allowing individuals who accompany someone age 75 or older to get a vaccine is applicable at state mass vaccination sites only.
