Should The Cons Comm Have Reappointed Meredith Kent?

On Tuesday night, the Conservation Committee selected Tom Wilson over Meredith Kent to serve on the Cranberry Bog Subcommittee and on Wednesday morning it's causing a stir on the Reps and Residents and In-Town Report Facebook pages. 

While it appears there is universal agreement over Kent's passion for the Cranberry Bog property, the Cons Comm did not reappoint her, stating she had missed several earlier meetings on the four member board, which has a member of the public and a Cons Comm member from Chelmsford and from Carlisle. 

What's your take on this, and for that matter what's your take on situations like this in general?

When it comes to appointing citizens to local government boards, is the most important thing dedication to the goal of the board or a balance between passion and respect for procedure?
