Thomas Allan Loose: Army Veteran, Model Plane Enthusiast
Services for Loose will be held in the spring.

CHELMSFORD, MA -Â Thomas Allan Loose, 74, of Chelmsford, passed away peacefully in his home while he slept on Jan. 17, 2016. Tom was born in Denver, Colorado, on April 26, 1941, the son of Alex and Clara Loose. In 2003, he was preceded in death by his wife of 25 years, Evelyn.
In 1998, Tom retired from New England Nuclear Corporation after over twenty-one years in design and safety engineering. For more than fifteen years prior to that, he held several positions in Massachusetts chemical technology companies. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served during the cold war in Ethiopia for the Army Security Agency, now the Army’s Intelligence and Security Command.
Tom loved building and flying remote control airplanes. He was an accomplished advanced radio control pilot and instructor, and competed in state and regional competitions across the Northeast and the Midwest. He remained socially energetic and was active locally in the Quinapoxet and other model flying clubs, and enjoyed being a member of the Silver Singles Group. Tom enjoyed teaching others, never shy to help when they needed it most. He was a thoughtful neighbor, good friend, and loving husband, uncle and brother.

Tom is survived by his brother Richard and his wife Linda of Boulder, Colorado; niece Tamara; nephew Bryan and his wife Angela; and nephew Andrew and his wife Ronna. Tom also leaves four grand nieces and two grand nephews, in addition to two step children and four grand children.
Tom had chosen cremation and the scattering of his remains at sea, which has been arranged by the Blake Funeral Home in Chelmsford. Relatives and friends are encouraged to attend a celebration of Tom’s life to be held in Chelmsford in the Spring.
