Voices Of Hope raise awareness and support in annual fall gala performance!

Voices Of Hope is a nonprofit organization of more than 200 individuals from Greater Boston who sing and perform to raise awareness and funds for cancer research through theatrical performances.

Established in 2009 as a way to honor loved ones impacted by cancer, VOH has achieved a great level of success in raising funds through theatrical and musical performances large and small, in venues such as Symphony Hall, North Shore Music Theatre, TD Garden, Gillette Stadium, the Hatch Shell, and Fenway Park. This group of dedicated members voluntarily work year-round to attract donors who support their journey. They have successfully secured private and corporate sponsors, including Fuddruckers, Conquer Cancer Coalition, Walmart and WGBH to help offset the significant costs associated with theatrical production. It is through these efforts that VOH has connected with thousands of people who are moved by the power and passion of their song and have joined their ever-growing community of hope for a cure.

To date VOH has raised over a half a million dollars for cancer research

On Saturday, October 14th, Voices Of Hope, will present its 9th annual fall gala performance

Broadway & Beyond at North Shore Music Theatre in Beverly.

Come enjoy a wonderful night of musical theater and support cancer research at the same time.

Broadway & Beyond highlights the amazing vocal range and spectacular dance moves of the multi-talented Voices Of Hope cast. The evening will blend traditional favorites from Anything Goes, Damn Yankees, and Hello Dolly with breakout contemporary numbers from Dear Evan Hansen, Hamilton, and Something Rotten. This performance is guaranteed to lift the collective spirits of the audience and instill one and all with hope for a future where cancer is a curable disease.

The local non-profit, which is dedicated to raising funds for cancer research through musical performance, will donate proceeds from the show to support cutting edge work being conducted at the Termeer Center for Targeted Therapies at the Mass General Cancer Center.

The Termeer Center has been the proud recipient of annual support from VOH since their 2012 season. Amazingly, VOH has become the second-highest donor (after the Termeer’s themselves) to support the many costs associated with the Termeer Center’s early phase clinical trials of promising new therapies and related studies.

“The efforts we have undertaken in the past several years –accelerated by Voices Of Hope’s support–have allowed us to understand why it is that one patient responds to a therapy so much better than another,” says Keith Flaherty, MD, Director of the Termeer Center at MGH. “Specifically,we use these funds to augment our robust tumor biopsy program, where we procure, deploy, and analyze patient’s specific genetic testing to help us link the best possible treatment for their unique mutation(s).”

From the performers, to the choreographers, musicians, back-stage tech, and directors, this production represents more than 100 dedicated members of VOH. Personally impacted by cancer or dedicated to finding a cure, these volunteers collectively donate thousands of hours to rehearsal and planning in the months leading to this single night. The VOH gala will begin with a cocktail reception and silent auction at 7 pm in the theatre lobby, followed by the performance of “Broadway & Beyond” at 8 pm.
