UPDATED Weather Alert: Chelmsford Is Under a Winter Storm Warning

CHELMSFORD, MA - It appears the groundhog was mistaken. Chelmsford is in for five to eight inches of snow on Friday, and the worst of it is expected during the morning commute.

A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for much of eastern Massachusetts beginning at 1 a.m. Friday and lasting until 3 p.m.

According to Weather.com, overnight rain will change over to snow around 4 a.m., Friday and continue throughout the commute and into the early afternoon.

Temperatures will remain mild Thursday, but will fall dramatically overnight. Boston and other coastal areas are under a winter storm watch that could expand throughout the day.
