Concord Cookware To Close After Over 30 Years
The Concord Center mainstay closes amid a competitive online market.

CONCORD, MA – A Concord Center mainstay is closing after more three decades in business. Concord Cookware, which sells home and kitchen goods, will close by the end of May, co-owner Mary Prestidge told the Concord Journal.
Prestidge cited her shop's struggle to compete in the online market as a reason behind the shuttering. Concord Cookware is a second generation family business that has operated on Walden Street for 34 years. It was originally owned by Prestidge's parents before Prestidge and her husband took over in 2004.
Branded as "a hardware store for your kitchen," the shop offers cooking and cleaning accessories, utensils, barware and glassware, cookbooks and dishes. Prestidge told the Journal she and her husband tried a few new sales approaches during the Christmas shopping season but couldn't keep the shop afloat.
