Concord to Present Hazard Mitigation Plan

The town will present the draft updates to its plan to reduce the effects of natural hazards at an upcoming meeting.

CONCORD, MA – The Town of Concord is finalizing a series of draft updates to its hazard mitigation plan. The plan, first adopted in 2010 and approved by FEMA, identifies natural hazards affecting Concord and possible responses to reduce damage.

The Metropolitan Area Planning Council, along with the Town of Concord, is updating the plan this year. The town invites residents, business owners and representatives of non-profits who are interested in giving their two cents on the plan to review a draft Monday, May 8.

According to the town, natural hazards that may impact Concord are floods, hurricanes, winter storms and earthquakes. The updated plan better prepares the town to tackle these disasters.
