Concord Sales Executive James Nelson Dies at 84

He passed away Nov. 19.

James Franklin “Frank” Nelson III, of Concord died Wednesday November 19, 2014 in Concord.

He was the beloved husband of twenty years of Geraldine R. (MacDougall) Nelson. Born in Melrose on April 24, 1930 he was the son of the late James F. Nelson Jr. and Alice (Favorin) Nelson. He was a 1948 graduate of Stoneham High School, and in 1978 received a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration from Boston University.

Mr. Nelson retired in 1998 after forty years of employment working for multiple companies as a Sales Executive in the electronics components parts industry. He thoroughly enjoyed mentoring sales people, and was very proud of being a pioneer in bringing females into a male dominated industry.

A Concord resident since since 1995, he previously resided in Reading. He enjoyed many years summering at Goose Rocks Beach in Kennebunkport, Maine.

In Concord, Mr. Nelson was an active member and participant in many activities at the Concord Council on Aging Senior Center.

In addition to his wife Geraldine, survivors include two children, Judith Lagsdin and her husband John of Dracut and Jeffery Nelson of Lowell, two step-children, Lynne Rosenburg and her partner Patricia Packard of Quincy and Steven Rosenburg Murphy and his fiancee Kimberly Turner of South Boston, two grandchildren, Heather deSousa and Holly Tsourides, four great grandchildren, Audrey and August deSousa and Ansana and Foxx Tsourides, and many cousins, colleagues and friends.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday November 25th at 1 pm in the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford St., Concord Center followed by interment in St. Bernard’s Cemetery, Concord. Visiting hours at the Dee Funeral home will be held on Monday November 24th from 3 to 7 pm.
