Concord's Philip Phalon: Korean War Vet, Raytheon Executive Who Had 22 Grandchildren Dies at 85
He died Dec. 8 at his home.

Philip A. Phalon, 85, of Concord, MA, passed away December 8, at his home.
Phil leaves Nancy, his loving wife of 62 years and nine children: Maureen Ferris and her husband Bruce of Allentown, PA, Karen Lucey of Salem, NH, Janice Watt and her husband Bob of Brookline, NH, Philip Phalon Jr and his wife Jeannine of Mason, NH, Linda Hawkes of Mendon, MA, Susan Makuch and her husband Ken of Westford, MA, Paul Phalon and his wife Thea, of Bath, PA, Laura El-Azem and her husband Patrick of Londonderry, NH, and Patricia Tangney and her husband Eugene of Parkland, FL. In addition, Phil was the proud grandfather of 22 grandchildren.

Phil was predeceased by four brothers: Joe, Paul, Bill and Jimmy.
Phil was born in 1929 in Patterson, NJ. Later, he moved to Newton, MA and graduated from Boston College in 1950. Phil served in the US Army during the Korean War. He had a lifelong career with Raytheon Company and was dedicated to humanitarian efforts worldwide. Phil retired as Sr. Vice President and subsequently opened his own international marketing consulting firm. He served as a director of the World Affairs Council of Boston, Emerson Hospital in Concord, and New Japan Radio Company.

Phil was active in his community’s Boy Scouts program and Little League and served for many years on the Concord- Carlisle School committee. Later, Phil got his pilot’s license and enjoyed flying.
Phil was a man of honesty and integrity who was sincerely devoted to family, God and country. He will always be dearly loved and missed by his entire family.
Funeral will be held Thursday December 11th from the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street. Interment with military honors will follow in St. Bernard’s Cemetery, Concord.

Concord’s town flag will fly at half staff on Thursday December 11th in recognition of Mr. Phalon’s service to his country during the Korean Conflict.
