CYT Alumni to Perform Musical - Songs For a New World

Brothers, Chad and Tyler Arle of Lexington Road, are among the five Concord Youth Theatre alumni artists who will bring Songs for a New World to CYT’s West Concord stage in June. With music and lyrics by Jason Robert Brown, Songs for a New World explores universal themes of facing adversity, changing direction, and making choices that impact the course of our lives. Brown considers these themes through the arcs of multiple characters and a score that is influenced by many genres, including pop, gospel, and jazz.

Concord Youth Theatre (CYT) brings this enjoyable work to the stage as part of the theater’s alumni company; years spent at CYT had a significant impact on the artists’ lives. Chad Arle (Man 2) is a recent graduate of Columbia University who is currently working as an independent screenwriter and producer in New York City. Tyler Arle (Music Director, Accompanist) is a composer, lyricist, and New York University student. Piano is featured heavily throughout this modern work.

Chad and Tyler are joined by three CYT alumni artists from Carlisle. Miles Petrie (Man 1) and Nicole Albanese (Woman 1) studied Theater and Performance Studies at Stanford University and Georgetown University, respectively. Amy Nosowitz, of Bedford Road, graduated from The New School in 2012 with a BFA in Musical Theater. After living and working in Los Angeles, she returned to Massachusetts to earn her MA in Theater Education from Emerson College. Nosowitz is the Education Director at CYT.

Songs for a New World will be performed June 25 and 26 at 7:30 PM in the CYT air-conditioned theater, located at 53 Church Street in West Concord.
