Lottery for 8 Affordable Housing Units at Brookside Square in Concord

The project is expected to be completed this summer.

The affordable housing lottery application deadline is May 5.

Eight affordable rental units, four 1BR and four 2BR, will soon be offered for lease to eligible applicants through a lottery process at Brookside Square, a new mixed-use development under construction on Beharrell Street in West Concord. When completed this summer, the development will include 74 luxury rental units and 36,000 square feet of non-retail commercial space in a three story modern structure with elevators.

All apartments will feature a living room, dining room and kitchen in an open floor plan. One-bedroom units will have one bathroom with livable square footage ranging from 675 to 750 sf. Two-bedroom units will have two bathrooms with livable square footage ranging from 1015 to 1047 sf. Two apartments – a one-bedroom and a two-bedroom will also be ADA compliant. Underground parking will be provided, with additional surface parking. The units are planned for occupancy in the summer of 2015.

Taking into consideration utility allowances, the initial rent for affordable units will be set at $1,236 – 1 bedroom units and at $1,374 – 2 bedroom units . Tenants pay all utilities except water and sewer.

The affordable units will be offered via Lottery to eligible applicants with complete application packages, earning 80% or less of the Boston Area Median Income (1 person household – $47,450, 2 person household- $54,200, 3 person household- $61,000, 4 person household – $67,750.) Applicants must also have sufficient income to afford the rent. Applications will be accepted through May 5, 2015 at 1pm. Applicants will be subject to landlord screening and final approval.

An Information Session will be held on Monday, March 30, 2015 at the Concord Town House, 22 Monument Square at 7:00 pm.
