Maynard Man Charged With Making Homemade Bomb
William C. O'Neil held pending dangerousness hearing on Friday.

CONCORD - A 53-year-old Maynard man was ordered held without bail accused of leaving a homemade explosive device on the front porch of a Demars Street home in Maynard on Monday.
In Concord District Court on Wednesday William C. O’Neil pleaded not guilty to placing an explosive device and possession of an explosive device.
Judge Timothy Gailey ordered O'Neil held without bail pending dangerousness hearing scheduled for 11 a.m. on Friday.

Maynard police report that on Monday officers responded to Demars Street after a homeowner called 911 reporting a suspicious package on his front porch.
After an on-scene assessment, the Massachusetts State Police Bomb Squad successfully disassembled the device and deemed the area safe.

During a subsequent investigation, conducted by Maynard Police and State Police assigned to the Office of the State Fire Marshal, officials were allegedly able to match a fingerprint on the device to the defendant.
O’Neil was arrested on Wednesday without incident.
