Police Log: B-and-E, a Hit-and-Run and a Deer with a Broken Leg

The following information was provided by the Concord Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Wednesday, Jan. 8

2:52 a.m. – As a result of a motor vehicle stop at the Route 2 rotary, a Chelmsford woman was cited for a red light violation.

7:03 a.m. – Police responded to an alarm activation at the Concord Municipal Light Plant headquarters on Elm Street. It was confirmed as accidental.

8:12 a.m. – A passing motorist reported a deer with a broken leg on Sudbury Road, by Route 117. Police checked the area, but the animal was gone on arrival.

9:40 a.m. – As a result of a motor vehicle stop by the Rite Aid on Lowell Road, a Concord resident was summonsed for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and no inspection sticker.

11:12 a.m. – Police responded to a reported attempted breaking and entering on Baker Avenue extension.

12:21 p.m. – A man came into the station to turn in a wallet he found by Starbucks.

4:07 p.m. – As a result of a motor vehicle stop in the area of Route 2 and Bypass Road, an Ayer man received a written warning for an inspection sticker violation.

4:28 p.m. – As a result of a motor vehicle stop in the area of Route 2 and Walden Street, an Acton man was summonsed for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and no inspection sticker.

5:34 p.m. – Officers investigated a reported motor vehicle accident in the area of Monument Street and Court Lane. As a result, one of the drivers received a citation for an unspecified motor vehicle violation.

7:56 p.m. – An employee from the All-Town Mobil at Crosby’s Corner reported a box truck backed up and struck a parked vehicle and left the area without stopping.

9:40 p.m. – As a result of a motor vehicle stop at Union Turnpike and the Acton town line, a Fitchburg man was cited for speed.

10:30 p.m. – As a result of a motor vehicle stop in the area of Route 2 and Baker Avenue Extension, a Waltham man was summonsed for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
