Police Log: Mules on the Loose, Theft and Possible Scams

Monday, Oct. 14

9:23 a.m. – Police responded to a report of traffic lights out in the area of Main Street and Comm Ave in West Concord.

11:20 a.m. – An Old Marlboro Road resident reported his Brittney Spaniel was missing.

12:59 p.m. – A cell phone caller reported possible suspicious activity at Rideout Field involving an older couple in a blue Ford Escape has been parked there for about half and hour. The responding officer reported two women were just there talking.

4:14 p.m. – A New Hampshire moving company reported a truck snagged a wire on Westford Road. Police checked the area, but did not locate any low-hanging or damaged wires in the area; the incident was determined to have occurred on Pope Road in Acton.

10:09 p.m. – Police responded to a reported disabled motor vehicle ion Route 2 west by Old Road to Nine Acre Corner.

Tuesday, Oct. 15

12:18 a.m. – An anonymous call came in from Belknap Street reporting a disturbance involving loud voices from a possible party in the area. The responding officers reported locating a vehicle with an occupant listening to music.

8:35 a.m. – Police responded to a report of suspicious activity in which a Sudbury Road resident's email address was being used in possible scam attempts.

8:46 a.m. – A Boxborough woman reported she believed she had struck an animal while driving on Commonwealth Avenue. The responding officer reported checking the area and finding nothing.

9:01 a.m. – A Park Lane resident reported her black-and-white longhair cat had been missing since the previous Saturday.

9:28 a.m. – Police responded to an alarm activation on Barretts Mill Road, which had bee ncaused by a resident using the incorrect passcode.

11:14 a.m. – A Louisiana woman reported losing her license while staying at a local hotel.

2:40 p.m. – Police responded to report of possible scam activity on Lowell Road.

4:07 p.m. – A 911 caller reported a minor two-vehicle accident in the Rotary Circle on Route. 2.

5:45 p.m. – Police responded to a report of larceny from the Turkish Cultural Center in which checks taken by a former employee were being cashed. As a result, an Acton woman was summonsed for larceny over $250 by a single scheme.

6:47 p.m. – A Williams Road resident reported two mules lost from the paddock, and the animals were at-large somewhere in the area. The mules eventually returned home.

8:11 p.m. – National Grid related a report of a motor vehicle leaking fuel on Nathan Pratt Drive. The vehicle was relocated and the leak stopped.
