Recital & Choral Evensong, 3/1 Trinity Episcopal Church, Concord
Youth Wind Quartet plays Mozart & Debussy, followed by Choral Evensong.

Trinity Episcopal Church, 81 Elm Street in Concord, invites you to its Prelude Recital and Choral Evensong taking place in the main sanctuary on Sunday, March 1 at 5 PM.
The featured recitalists are The Music Maker Wind Ensemble, a youth chamber group including two flutes, clarinet and bass clarinet. The students, Anoushka (flute, grade 8), Grace (flute, Grade 6), and Patrick (clarinet, grade 7), are joined by their coach Chris Nowselski (bass clarinet). This quartet will perform works by Mozart and Debussy. The Music Maker School, based in Acton, teaches all instruments to ages for nearly two decades.
Chris Nowselski has a driving passion for jazz. He founded the Wheaton Jazz Ensemble while a student at Wheaton College, where he graduated magna cum laude. After college, Chris directed general music, band and choral classes for Norton (MA) public schools. His collaboration with the Paul Effman Music Service included teaching Jazz, Concert and Marching Band with such celebratory events as NYC's St Patrick's Day Parade.

Following the 30-minute program by the chamber ensemble, Trinity's Parish Choir (Robert Barney, director) will sing the Preces and Responses by Philip Radcliffe, the canticles (Magnificat and Nunc dimittis) by John Goss, and a setting of Psalm 103 by Samuel Wesley. The choir will sing "Thou wilt keep him" by Samuel Sebastian Wesley as the anthem.
Choral Evensong, the crown jewel of the Anglican tradition, is a centuries-old service that continues to be prayed every day all over the world. Drawn from seventeenth century custom, our community is invited to enter into a sacred space of reflection through music, scripture, and prayers that have shaped Christian lives for hundreds of years.
