Snowflake Bentley StoryWalk at the Concord Free Public Library

StoryWalks are a wonderful way to build children's interest in reading, promote physical activity, and enjoy time together outside.

The Children’s Department at the Concord Free Public Library has installed a StoryWalk on the Main Library front lawn. Children, grandchildren and families can enjoy book pages from Snowflake Bentley, written by Jacqueline Briggs Martin and illustrated by Mary Azarian. This book won a Caldecott award in 1999, and it is a beautiful story of a farmer who dedicated his whole life to photographing and studying snowflakes.

The StoryWalk is displayed along the brick walkway on the Main Library front lawn.

The StoryWalk Project was created by Anne Ferguson and developed in collaboration with the Vermont Bicycle & Pedestrian Coalition and the Kellogg-Hubbard Library.
