Trinity Episcopal Church’s Youth Choir (Robert Barney, director) will sing Choral Evensong for Advent on Sunday, December 1 at 5 PM in Trinity’s intimate Chapel at 81 Elm Street in Concord. The young singers will offer settings of psalms and responses in addition to leading the hymns. The composers whose works are featured include Herbert Howells, Ronald Arnatt, Thomas Norris, William Henry Havergal, and Robert Barney.

Trinity’s youth choristers will also sing a setting of Wachet auf (‘Wake, awake’), one of the most beautiful Advent chorales, set by early German Baroque composer Franz Tunder.

Choral Evensong has been a jewel in the Anglican tradition for over 500 years. The service lasts about 45 minutes. Come, enjoy this respite from the hustle and bustle of the season and experience prayer in this ancient musical form. All in our community are invited to attend.
