Why I'm Running the Boston Marathon: Maggie Crowley
Maggie Crowley, a senior at Boston College, is running this year for Marathon bombing victim Martin Richard.

CONCORD, MA – "Peace and kindness." That's 8-year-old Martin Richard's legacy, and one team MR8 will carry on this Boston Marathon. Maire "Maggie" Crowley, a Boston College senior running her third Marathon, says running for team MR8 has been "life-altering."
"They are committed to challenging today's youth to live out Martin's vision of togetherness, compassion, peace and kindness," the Concord resident wrote in an email. "I hope to run for team MR8 for many, many years to come!"
Crowley is also looking forward to running the Boston Marathon with Katherine Switzer, who became the first woman to run the Marathon 50 years ago. She met Switzer during her long training run from Hopkinton to Boston College last week, and says the experience is "very special" for herself and all the women running this year.
