2021 Memorial Day Programs In Danvers
Danvers will hold two Memorial Day events this weekend - a rolling caravan parade and a ceremony livestreamed to the public.
DANVERS, MA —A year after most public Memorial Day ceremonies were canceled because of the coronavirus crisis, Danvers will hold two events this weekend.
The town's Memorial Day ceremony will be Monday at 10 a.m. and will be broadcast on Danvers Community Access Television live and replayed at 6 p.m. The livestream will also replay at 6 p.m. Monday night and be available through the DCAT's YouTube Channel and Facebook page.
Danvers Veterans Council President and founder of Operation Troop Support Dick Moody will be the master of ceremonies for the event that will include guest speakers, music from the Danvers High School band and bagpipe music from Danvers Fire Capt. Kenneth Reardon Jr.

Danvers police will hold a rolling caravan parade earlier in the day with police cruisers, fire vehicles and Chris Culkeen playing patriotic music. It will begin at 9 a.m. and end with enough time to return home to watch the 10 a.m. ceremony.
Ruth Lilja, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and active member of the VFW Auxiliary, Operation Troops Support and Marine Corps League, will be the grand marshal.

Flags have also been placed at the graves of fallen veterans in town.
