Ann & Hope Closing Danvers Curtain & Bath Outlet

The company said all 11 of its locations in southern New England have fallen victim to the coronavirus economic slowdown.

DANVERS, MA — Retailer Ann & Hope said Monday it would close its 11 Curtain & Bath Outlet locations in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut, including the location in Danvers.

"This was an exceedingly difficult decision, but after carefully looking at all of our available options, it became apparent that it was inevitable,” Ann & Hope Vice President Ron Dore said in a statement. "The unprecedented economic uncertainty brought on by the COVID-19 public health crisis, combined with more consumers gravitating toward online shopping alternatives, has created a retail environment that is simply no longer sustainable for many locally owned businesses like ours."

Store closings will begin July 9, and all 11 stores should be closed within three to four months, the company said.
