Cornonavirus Cleanup Keeps Danvers Market Closed A Second Day
McKinnon's Markets & Super Butcher Shops had hope to reopen its Danvers location Wednesday after an employeed tested positive for the virus.
DANVERS, MA — McKinnon's Markets & Super Butcher Shops kept its Danvers location closed Wednesday as it continued to clean the store and test employees after an unpecified number of workers tested positive for the new coronavirus.
"We are continuing the process of clearing employees to work and setting up enhanced guidelines for workers once they return," the local supermarket chain said. "We also want to make sure all employees are safe, happy & healthy!"
The store had originally said it would reopen Wednesday after it was closed Tuesday for a deep cleaning.

The company said it has been working closely with Danvers health officials.

"The Town of Danvers is not able to confirm specific cases of COVID19 due to privacy concerns," the town of Danvers said in a statement Tuesday. "We have found McKinnon's to be following all guidance, and do not recommend that persons who entered McKinnon's quarantine for 14 days."
