Danvers Softball Gets Top Seed in Playoffs, Baseball Slotted No. 2
Both the varsity softball and baseball teams in Danvers are playing again in the MIAA Division II North playoffs this year.
UPDATE: The quarterfinal softball game between Danvers and Tewksbury has been rescheduled to Saturday, June 1 (4 p.m.) at the Great Oak School.
Both with stellar records, the Danvers High varsity baseball and softball teams will be traveling to the playoffs again.Â
The Falcons' softball team, with a 19-1 record in the Division II North bracket, has a bye in the first round and will be playing either Tewksbury or Wakefield.

The Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association quarterfinal game is scheduled for Friday at 4 p.m. The game will be played in Danvers at a location to be decided.
The girls' only loss this season was a non-league contest to St. Mary's and they are consequently seeded No. 1 in the tournament.

Danvers is a regular in the postseason and lost in the quarterfinals last year to Dracut.
The high school baseball team is playing Tewksbury in the first round of the MIAA Division II North sectionals at 6:30 p.m. this Friday at Plains Park.
The winner will play the winner of the upcoming New Mission and Reading game at a location to be announced on June 3 at 4 p.m.Â
The Falcons ended the regular season on an 18-2 record and were seeded No. 2 in the tournament.
Roger Day's baseball club likewise is a regular in the playoffs and lost a quarterfinal game to Burlington last year.
St. John's Prep baseball is the top seed in the Division I North tournament at 19-1 and won a bye into the first round. The Eagles will host the winner of Thursday's Lexington/Malden game at date, time and location to be announced.
