Danvers Cancels Spring Recycling Weekend In May
While the in-person day scheduled for May 1 and May 2 is canceled for the second straight year, the town has alternatives for recycling.
DANVERS, MA — Danvers Department of Public Works has canceled the in-person Recycle Weekend for the second straight year because of the coronavirus health crisis.
The Danvers DPW is giving residents alternatives to get rid of large items and those that cannot be put out in the regular trash.
Rigid plastics can be disposed of free at the transfer station.

Metals can be disposed of at the transfer station for 10 cents per pound.
Textiles can be left curbside in the pink SimpleRecycling bags.

Televisions, computer monitors, appliances and other electronics can be disposed of for $30 at the transfer station or through curbside pickup by purchasing a bulky item sticker. Stickers are available at Danvers Hardware or the Danvers DPW website.
Electronics can also be recycled at Best Buy.
Paper shredding is available at Staples locations.
