Danvers Crossing Guard Struck By Car, Seriously Injured
The longtime crossing guard was brought to Beverly Hospital.
DANVERS, MA — A longtime crossing guard suffered serious injuries after being hit by a car near a middle school Wednesday morning. The woman, who was not identified, was brought to Beverly Hospital.
Police said the crossing guard was struck around 7 by a car driving west on Poplar Street. Earlier reports said the crash occurred at the intersection of Poplar and Belgian Road, near the Holten Richmond Middle School.
The driver of the car involved stayed to cooperate with the investigation. No word on whether charges will be filed.
