Danvers Fans Jubilant at Red Sox Win in World Series
Boston defeated St. Louis in Game 6 at Fenway Park, 6-1, to win its first World Series at home since 1918.

The Boston Red Sox defeated the St. Louis Cardinals in Game 6 of the World Series Wednesday night to claim the team's eighth championship and local fans jubilantly spread the news, whether that was celebrating in the streets of Boston or joining the flood of chatter on social media.
"FORÂ #BOSTON! FORÂ #DANVERS! FORÂ #REDSOXNATION! WE'REÂ #WORLDSERIESCHAMPIONS! THEÂ #REDSOXÂ ARE THEÂ #WORLDSERIESÂ CHAMPIONS! OH MY GOD! WE DID IT!" tweeted one euphoric fan.
"I thought the #RedSox would be pretty good and make the post-season. I never expected this. Well done, gentlemen," tweeted local author, journalism professor and Danvers resident Dan Kennedy.
"1918....2013, almost there" was the sentiment on the Danvers High School Band Facebook page, quickly followed by "YEEAAA!! WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS! #RedSox #RedSoxNation#WorldSeries #Boston #BostonStrong WHOOT!!"
"Congratulations to the World Series Champions - The Boston Red Sox!" was the message at Cherry Street Fish Market.
Merchants Liquor Mart simply had this image to share.
But over at Firehouse Subs, it's apparently where champions eat. The staff posted a picture with Red Sox catcher David Ross who had recently stopped in for a bite to eat.
