Danvers Fire Causes 'Extensive Damage' At Dyer Court Home
A second alarm was struck during the early morning blaze with mutual aid coming from Middleton, Beverly, Peabody and Salem.
DANVERS, MA — A Dyer Court home sustained extensive damage from an early morning blaze on Monday.
Danvers Fire Capt. Glen Cooney told Patch the fire started in the exterior of the home and advanced to the first and second floors, and into the rafters. He said a second alarm was struck out of concern it might get into the basement, but that Danvers firefighters and mutual aid were able to contain the fire within the main part of the house.
"The fire did spread to the attic so we had to chase it up there and had to open it up," he said. "So, unfortunately, there was extensive damage."
