Danvers High's McCarthy Named Football Player Of The Year
McCarthy has 22 touchdowns and has rushed for 1,200 yards heading into this week's season finale.

DANVERS, MA -- Danvers High School senior running back Matthew McCarthy was named High School Football Player of the Year by the Association of New England Football Officials Monday. McCarthy, who is the team's captain, has 22 touchdowns and has rushed for 1,200 yards heading into this week's season finale against Gloucester.
The award was presented by Danvers head coach Ryan Nolan.
