Danvers Little Leaguers Win Tournament Opener With 10-Run Rally
The Danvers National Little League all-star team beat Medford 13-8 in the opening game of the state final four.
MILLBURY, MA -- Danvers moved one step closer to playing in next month's Little League World Series with a 13-8 win over Medford in Millbury Thursday night. The winner of this weekend's double-elimination tournament moves on to the New England Championship Tournament in Bristol, CT. Danvers's Thursday night win included a 10-run fifth inning to come back after trailing 8-3.
Danvers plays again on Friday, when they will face Pittsfield American Little League at 4 pm. Danvers will also play Westboro on Saturday in round-robin play, with the top two teams in pool play facing off against each other in Sunday's final.
