Danvers Marine Ordered to Supervised Probation After January Arrest

A Salem District Court judge recently ordered Marine Sgt. Matthew Fairbanks to two months of supervised probation following his January arrest.

Danvers Marine Sgt. Matthew Fairbanks will spend the next two years on supervised  probation stemming from his January arrest on assault and battery and guns charges.

A Salem District Court judge recently handed down the probation order after Fairbanks spent three months behind bars for violating his original probation order following his arrest in January, according to the Salem News.   

Fairbanks was arrested in January after a physical altercation in his Danvers apartment with his "long-estranged" father. During the arrest, police also found guns that were not properly stored. 

Fairbanks is now out of custody and will begin serving his supervised probation.
