Danvers Martin Luther King Jr. Rememberance Goes Virtual For 2021
The celebration of fellowship and the ideals that Rev. Dr.Martin Luther King Jr. lived and died for will be livestreamed on Jan. 18.

DANVERS, MA — This year's Danvers Human Rights and Inclusion Committee Martin Luther King Jr. remembrance and celebration will be livestreamed beginning at 2 p.m. on Jan. 18.
Most of the event will take place virtually this year due to coronavirus-related health restrictions.
Speakers will include State Sen. Joan Lovely, State Rep. Sally Kerans, Danvers Town Manager Steve Bartha, Danvers Superintendent of Schools Lisa Dana, Select Board Chair Dan Bennett, Town Meeting Member Mike Powers and Committee Chair Dutrochet "Dee" Djoko.

The 2021 Drum Major for Justice Award will be presented to Dr. J. Keith Motley, the former Chancellor of UMass-Boston and current consultant to the Urban League of Eastern Massachusetts.
In 2016, he was named one of Boston’s 100 Most Influential People of Color.
