Danvers Memorial Day Ceremony to be Viral
Ceremony to be broadcast on Monday, May 25, 2020 at 10 am and 6 pm.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the traditional Town of Danvers Memorial Day Parade and Town Hall Ceremony will not take place this year. Instead, to honor all veterans, the Danvers Veterans Council and Town of Danvers Veterans Services Department will present a virtual Memorial Day Ceremony to be broadcast on Memorial Day, Monday, May 25th. Master of Ceremonies will be Dick Moody, President of Danvers Veterans Council and founder of Operation Troop Support. Guest speaker will be Richard Trask, Danvers Town Archivist, who will present “Memories of the Past.”
The ceremony will also include the following:
Color Guard by Danvers Police Department;

Wreath placement by Danvers Girl and Boy Scout;
Music provided by Danvers HS Band (previously filmed);

TAPS by Danvers HS Band Members;
Bagpipe music provided by Capt. Kenneth Reardon, Jr., Danvers Fire Department;
Gun salute by Danvers Alarm List Company.
Dick Moody stated “Although we will miss our traditional way to celebrate Memorial Day, this virtual ceremony is just one way we can take time to honor the memory of all those veterans who have paid the ultimate price while serving our country at home and abroad.”
The public is invited to view this program which will be broadcast on Monday, May 25th, at 10 am and again at 6 pm, through the courtesy of Danvers Cable Access Television, Channel 99 on Comcast and Channel 36 on Verizon.
