Danvers Police Cancel Rescheduled Firearms Processing
After rescheduling the May 1 date to Saturday, that date is now canceled with a makeup date to be announced.
DANVERS, MA — Danvers police have postponed the rescheduled date for firearms permit processing.
The department had moved the May 1 date to Saturday, but that date has been canceled with a makeup date to be announced. There are also scheduled permit processing dates scheduled for May 18 and May 27 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Danvers police said applicants are encouraged, but not required, to scan completed applications and support documentation to firearms@danversma.gov or mail them prior to coming to the station.

Those applying for permits will have their temperatures checked and will be required to self-certify they are not experiencing any coronavirus-like symptoms.
Those whose temperature reads higher than 98.6 degrees will be asked to leave the station and return for a permit no earlier than 14 days later.
Police said that because criminal investigation emergencies can arise at any time, applications are asked to check their email and Danvers police social media to verify appointments have not been canceled on a given day.
