Danvers Police Candidate Open House Thursday

Danvers will welcome those interested in possibly joining the department for an information session ahead of this spring's exam.

DANVERS, MA — Danvers police are holding an open house for those interested in potentially joining the department.

A drop-in, information open house will be held Thursday for anyone interested in applying for a position in town from 5 to 7 p.m. at the station on Ash Street.

Hirings in Danvers are done through the state's civil service system. Candidates must be at least 19 years old by the spring exam date, have a high school diploma or equivalent, or have served three years of military service.

To qualify for this year's Danvers residential preference hiring must have lived in the town since June 13, 2020.

Registration deadline is April 2o for the June 12 exam. Go here to register for this spring's exam.

There is a $50 late fee for those who register after April 20 through the May 4 final deadline.

All coronavirus protocols, including mandatory face coverings, will be observed during the open house.
