Danvers Rolling Caravan, Virtual Ceremony To Honor Veterans
The virtual ceremony will include a photo gallery, music and wreath presentations, stories and songs.
DANVERS, MA — Danvers will hold a rolling caravan and remote ceremony to honor veterans on Nov. 11.
This year's ceremony will be a virtual one due to coronavirus-related gathering restrictions.
A rolling caravan will begin at 9 a.m. The virtual ceremony will start at 11 a.m. and will be available on Danvers Community Access Television. A replay is scheduled for 6 p.m.

Danvers police are organizing the caravan as a military-style procession of police cruisers, fire apparatus and EMS vehicles. Those who come out to watch are reminded to wear masks and practice social distancing.
The Danvers Veterans Council is organizing the virtual ceremony. Danvers Veterans Council President Dick Moody will be the master of ceremonies with recently retired Director of Health and Veterans Affairs Peter Mirandi presenting "A Veteran';s Pandemic Story: Past and Present."

The ceremony will also include Danvers Girl Scouts and Danvers Boy Scouts presenting wreaths, the Danvers High band playing a drum roll and "Taps" and bagpipe music from Capt. Kenneth Reardon Jr.
Annie Brobst, winner of the 2019 New England Music Awards Live Act of the Year, will sing a patriotic son. Jeannine Nash, whose father and five brothers all served in World War II and Korea, will read a story.
There will also be a rolling photo presentation of Danvers veterans.
