Danvers Runner Takes Part in Selective Falmouth Race

Danvers junior high schooler and runner Catalina Dominick was recently one of ten girls chosen to run in the Cochary Mile race, one of the selective precursor races to the New Balance Falmouth Road Race, according to an article in the Salem News. 

Meant to honor a runner, Tommy Cochary, killed by a drunk driver, the Cochary Mile race requires high school athletes to write an essay about making good choices. 

“It was one of the most fun times of my life,” said Dominick. “Every one there was really nice and we got trainers, spikes, uniforms and lots of other stuff. The whole atmosphere was awesome. I almost felt famous.”
