Danvers Youth in 'Fair' Condition at Children's Hospital

A hospital spokesperson said the youth was in "fair" condition and would remain a patient at the hospital.

The Danvers teen struck by a car Tuesday on Poplar Street was listed in "fair" condition at Children's Hospital Boston on Wednesday afternoon.

The hospital did not release any further information on his condition other than to indicate he would remain a patient there.

According to sources and social media updates from family and friends in the hours since the accident, the teen did undergo surgery at the hospital.

The accident occurred shortly before 5 p.m. on Poplar Street at the rail trail crossing.

The youth was first taken to the emergency room at Beverly Hospital before being transferred by MedFlight to Boston.
