Firefighters Cook-Off, Celtic Music and More on Weekend Calendar
MDA Cooking for a Cure, Bass Rocks Golf Club Bridal Show and the Trashfinders Ball all happening this weekend on the North Shore.

Firefighters/MDA Cooking for a Cure

- Where: Danversport Yacht Club
- When:Â Doors open at 6 p.m. Food is served between 7 and 9 p.m.Â
- What: Firefighters/MDA Cooking for a Cure is the fifth-annual cooking competition among firefighters to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. All you can eat, cash bar. Raffles, also.Â
Trashfinders Ball
- Where:Â Franco-American Club, Beverly
- When: Saturday, 7 p.m.
- What:Â Bring your most prized trash finds to the ball for judging, (limit 3 trash finds). Music by the Found Objects, Also special appearance by Cape Ann Improv, traditional junk food served, wear a second hand or home made outfit for the Trashion Show! Tickets $10 at the door, Â A portion of the proceeds will go to Change is Simple.Â
Annual Celtic Concert featuring Fellswater. Opening performance by The Knotty Celts

- Where:Â The Community House of Hamilton & Wenham
- When: Saturday, 7:30 p.m.
- What:Â Fellswater is a four piece Celtic ensemble that plays a wide range of music, drawing from the heritage of all the Celtic nations, especially Scotland, Ireland, Brittany and Canada. Depending on the musical selection, Instrumentation may include whistle, flute, guitar, mandolin, bouzouki,violin, smallpipes and border pipes.
- Cost: $15 in advance or $18 at the door
Bass Rocks Golf Club Bridal Show
- Where: Bass Rocks Golf Club, Gloucester
- When: Sunday, 12-3 p.m.
- What:Â Come to the Bass Rocks Golf Club Bridal Show and meet some of the North Shore's finest wedding vendors, while enjoying complimentary hors d'oeuvres and mimosas!
Family Reception for Draw Me a Story Exhibit
- Where:Â Wenham Museum
- When: Sunday, 1 p.m.
- What: Beloved local author and illustrator Ed Emberley and his daughter Rebecca present a special exhibit of illustrations from their collection of frightfully-friendly Monster books. Create thumbprint and monster art, hear select readings, and enjoy a classic children's storybook ballet by the Hamilton-Wenham School of Dance performances at 2:15 pm and 2:45 pm.
