All eyes will be on Boston for the return of fireworks there as most communities have canceled their displays, mostly due to a lack of planning time and an unwillingness to host so many people right now.

The fireworks are at Boston Common, not the Esplanade, and will follow the Boston Pops' 8 p.m. performance in Tanglewood, a music venue in Western Massachusetts.

North Shore cities and towns determined in April to postpone this year's fireworks because of uncertainty at the time regarding coronavirus-related capacity limits.

The nearest fireworks will be Monday night at 9:30 over Gloucester harbor.
