Flying Tire Smashes Into Woman's Windshield In Danvers
The tire fell from a pickup truck's trailer, according to the Danvers Fire Department.

DANVERS, MA—A Danvers woman is recovering from her injuries after a tire smashed through her windshield while driving over the weekend.
According to The Salem News, Karen Hagan was driving alone on Electronics Ave. behind a pickup truck that was hauling a trailer. Around 10 a.m. Saturday, a tire fell from that trailer.
It then bounced off the pavement, flew through the air, smashed through Hagan's windshield and slammed into her face.

The Danvers Fire Department responded to the scene.
"On arrival crews found a vehicle in the travel lane with significant damage. A tire from a trailer being towed by a contractor had struck the vehicle and gone through the windshield," the department said in a post on Facebook. "Fortunately injuries to the single occupant were not life threatening."

Hagan was transported to Beverly Hospital. She sustained a large slash to the forehead, a chipped tooth and a possible concussion, the newspaper reported.
The driver of the pickup truck was reportedly cited for a motor vehicle safety violation.
