All the creatively decorated trees and wreaths that filled Tapley Memorial Hall, 13 Page St, Danvers from Dec. 1st to Dec. 6th have been gathered up by all the eager winners who were drawn on Sunday afternoon. It is all made possible by the businesses, families, clubs and organizations that donated all the items. The ideas ranged from a COVID Relief Express theme tree to a Santa Paws wreath decked with gifts for dogs. There was no Preview Party this year which is a fun time for all the donors to come together for a night of food and music in a hall full of holiday spirit. The musicians; Darren Muise of the Music Connection, Dan Tremblay and Friends, Karen Raniere and Classic Groove, and Charlotte Jordan and Blue Rebel came forward to volunteer their talents but were prerecorded and appeared on the Danvers Historical Society youtube channel and DCAT. The children's events couldn't take place in person but also took place on youtube. This year they included Gingerbread Cookie baking with Nancy, Santa and Mrs. Claus reading and singing, Spark a Dream Princess Party, and a Polar Express reading. New this year was the opportunity to have secret Elves from SJ Designs do a to Polar Express Special Delivery to homes of children prior to the reading. The delivery included a ticket, hot chocolate, and a jingle bell for each family member all festively wrapped. If you missed these events they are still available to watch on the Danvers Historical Society youtube channel. There was no printed program book this year to show appreciation to corporate sponsors. This was also done digitally. The Historical Society greatly appreciated the generous support of John M. Ross & Son, IRA Toyota, People’s United Bank, NorthEast Bank, Northshore Bank, Coffee Time Bake Shop, and others. Without them and the help of dedicated volunteers, it would not have been the success that it was especially during these unusual times. The community can look forward to the 13th Annual Parade of Trees in December, 2021.Happy and healthy New Year wishes to all from the Danvers Historical Society.
