Holly Irgens Running For Danvers Library Board Of Trustees
The Danvers resident and business owner said she values the library as a place "to feel Danvers' sense of unity and inclusion."

The following is a declaration of candidacy from Danvers Library Board of Trustees candidate Holly Irgens to Patch:
DANVERS, MA — My name is Holly Irgens. I am running for the Danvers Board of Library Trustees and would be honored to serve the town in this role.
I'm running for this position because of my passion for the library as a place of community, paired with my love of reading. I've been a resident in Danvers for almost nine years and the first place I found in the community was the library, which I was thrilled was a short walk from my house.

As a mom with a toddler and then an infant, the Danvers Library was the first place I really got to feel Danvers' sense of unity and inclusion. It brought me joy to bring my kids there as they grew older for things like Story Time, Easter egg hunts, Concerts in the Park, see the ducks, or grab a book for myself.
As they grew, it became a place we felt like home, between the LEGO Club or as a destination to find new books for my budding readers to explore. As an avid reader myself, the library has been a place of sanctuary to reserve books during the pandemic and I'm so thankful for our town's library.

Aside from my love of Danvers, I am the owner of Little Bird Boston, a marketing and PR company, along with being co-founder and Director of Marketing of Dorchester Brewing Company.
Along with work, I use every chance I can to get more involved in my community, such as my current role as the President of the PAC at Great Oak School and leading my daughter's Daisy Troop and coaching her softball T-Ball team. For the past 10 years, I've also been involved in volunteering for RESPOND, a non-profit organization devoted to ending domestic violence.
If you elect me to the board of Library Trustees, I will bring my experience as a Danvers resident, business owner, parent and put it towards continuing to support our library's amazing work.
I hope to bring a fresh perspective as we continue to invigorate the library and foster a sense of community.
I am passionate about the Danvers library and would be honored to serve on the Board of Library Trustees.
