Kiwanis to Hold Bike Rodeo & Car Safety Seat Check This Saturday

Children who bring their own bikes can test their handling on a skills course

DANVERS – The Kiwanis club is scheduled to hold a bike rodeo and car seat safety check this Saturday morning, June 18th.

The event will take place at Danvers High School between 9am and 12pm.

The annual event invites children to come on down to the high school and test their bike handling skills, while raising awareness on the importance of helmet use.

A skills course will include braking without skidding, walking through bike crosswalks, waiting at stop signs and more. A bike helmet fitting will be carried out by Beverly Hospital Sports Rehabilitation staff.

To take part in the rodeo, children must come with their own bikes. Free helmets will be distributed to participants.

There will be stations for brake testing, tire pressure, gears and a nuts and bolts check.
