Last Spud's Restaurant Is Closing
The chain, which started 35 years ago and once had five locations, will sell its Rowley location in January.

ROWLEY, MA — Spud's Restaurant & Pub, a North Shore restaurant chain which once had locations in Danvers, Saugus, Woburn, and North Hampton, NH, is closing its last location. The 35-year-old chain plans to sell its Rowley location in January. According to Boston Restaurant Talk, which first reported this story, owner Bruce Spaulding said "It's time to take some days off, travel, and enjoy my family."
Started in 1984, the casual restaurant chain was one of the first restaurants in greater Boston to serve Buffalo wings. When Spaulding closed the Saugus location last year, he said the Rowley location was thriving.
