Light The Night Purple Walk In Danvers

The walk will help raise awareness and support around opiate and substance abuse.

Starting tonight at 6:30 p.m. at the Danvers Rotary Pavilion at Peabody Institute Library, an event called “Light The Night Purple” will take place to help raise support and awareness concerning opiate and other substance abuse within local communities. “Light The Night Purple” is a community gathering and walk together as a sign of solidarity in the fight against substance abuse.

The event is a one mile that will start and end on the grounds of the Danvers Rotary Pavilion, with parking available at the Danvers Library or the lot across from Town Hall. The walk will go down Elm Street, down High Street through Danvers Square, up the Rail Trail along Hobart Street, and over Pickering to Cherry Street.

The event is free to the community, and the first 50 to show up will receive a free t-shirt. There is no registration required, just be sure to wear some purple for the event. Water will be provided, and it will take place rain or shine. Danvers Cares and East Boston Savings Bank sponsor the event.
