In her free time, Bernard is an active participant in many charitable functions. She volunteers as chairperson for the blanket drive at Mission of Deeds in Reading, Massachusetts. Through their efforts, she has collected more than 300 blankets for needy families during the cold winter months. Bernard is s also a volunteer for the Salvation Army and in many community events in the surrounding towns and cities.
