Local Insurance Company Awarded $5K For Cancer Research
The total donation to Tough Warrior Princesses could double to $10,000.
DANVERS, MA – Phil Richard Insurance has earned a 2017 Safeco Insurance® Make More Happen Award for demonstrating extraordinary volunteerism to make positive change happen in their community. The award includes $5,000 to use towards its community work with Tough Warrior Princesses, which is committed to raising funds for cancer research, educating and enlightening the public on the need to find a cure, and providing support to women and their families impacted by cancer.
This year, Safeco is offering agents an additional opportunity to help the causes they care about most. Jacquelyn Richard, an independent agent for Phil Richard Insurance, and Tough Warrior Princesses will have their stories featured on Safeco.com, with a chance to raise an additional $5,000. If the story is shared from Safeco.com at least 50 times on Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn, the total donation will increase to $10,000. Help them reach their goal by sharing their story at www.safeco.com/make-more-happen/share.
"We are excited to offer agents the ability to raise even more funds through social media sharing, and we hope their stories inspire others to volunteer in their communities," said Christina Casal, Safeco Insurance Northeast Region territory manager in a press release. "Safeco’s Make More Happen program recognizes agents who are committed to making a difference in their local communities, and we want encourage them to directly support the local charities where they see the most need."

Safeco’s Make More Happen awards focus on nonprofits in the areas of health and safety, education and civil service. Phil Richard Insurance was selected for a Make More Happen Award based on a photo and application demonstrating its commitment to Tough Warrior Princesses, which serves the North Shore.
Phil Richard Insurance started working with Tough Warrior Princesses (TWP) in 2009 when they participated in a breast-cancer fundraiser. Employees continue to partake in fundraising events and use their office as a donation drop-off and pick-up location for the organizations Survivor Baskets, which include high-value items for cancer patients receiving treatment. Phil Richard Insurance helps spread the mission of TWP by way of word and facilitates connections with other donors and organizations. This potential $10,000 donation will allow TWP to reach and support more patients in need.
